Sentosa Island

We went to Sentosa Island 2 days ago. It was pretty neat. Raelee was excited about doing a coiuple of things over on the island that Granny had told her about. On the top of her list was seeing the pink dolphins and seeing the nightly show. The Merlion was pretty neat for her to see too. Mom and dad had gotten her a stuffed animal Merlion and it was neat for her to see it in real life.
The Merlion is part of Sinapore history and legend. We saw a movie about it and then got to go to the top of it and look out at the view.
Inside of the Merlion
They gave you a coin at the begining of the tour. You put your coin in the Merlion's mouth to see if you got good luck (and a prize). We all had good luck and got some neat little prizes!
View of the water mosaic from the top. This is what Raelee played in.
See all of the ships in the water? They are everywhere. It's really kind of sad. A cabbie told my mom that they traded the dolphins being close to the island for the ships :(
View from the mosaic back toward the merlion.
Raelee got to splash around in the water...she got soaked but had a lot of fun...and that's all that counts.
Raelee got to feed some sea turtles at the aquarium. We went to the aquarium JUST to see the famed pink dolphins. Raelee was SO excited to see them. Mom and dad paid $80 for us to get in. It was PACKED. You could barely get in to see the exhibits. SO many people. It was also VERY stinky. Very enclosed with a lot of people that didn't believe in deodorant (literally). I didn't enjoy the aquarium at all.
But Raelee got to see her pink dolphin. Yes, this is as close as we got...and this was with the zoom lens. It was kinda a sham. They are supposed to have a show with them but it was closed...so all these dolphins got to do was swim in circles and stick their noses out every now and then. Raelee didn't seem disappointed though so it was all good I guess.

After the aquarium we went to ride the Luge. I don't have any pictures of that, but it was Raelee's favorite part of the day. She rode with Papa and beat us twice. I didn't win ever..lol It was a ton of fun though....we went REALLY fast downhill. Raelee wants to go back and do that again. Maybe we will.
We also got to see the night show "Song of the Sea." Jenny...Izzy and Gabby have seen this show a few times on DVD with Raelee. My mom and dad got the DVD for Raelee when they went to see it and brought it to her. It was neat that Raelee was singing the songs right along with the show...even though they were in Chinese or something. She knew the whole show. That was really neat for her. It was a really neat show.
After it was over, we got to brave the crowds (think disney world after one of their night shows is over....THOUSANDS of people all trying to leave) up the escelator and on the monorail. It was crazy...but we did it. Raelee was SO tired by the end of the night...pretty much all she could do was cry. I felt so bad for her. We got food in her belly and brought her home. She was out like a light and refused to leave the apartment at all the next day...and at home she stayed. It was a nice, restful day.
I can't wait to see what today has in store for us!
