Candy School

Happy Late Halloween from Raelee!! (sorry we're late!) Raelee was an M & M for Halloween. Really, it was all about the glitter shoes..she wanted to wear glitter shoes and she finally got to wear some..lol I need to take a close up picture of her shoes b/c they are so 'special' to her.
What better way to use up halloween candy than to do science experiments and math with it!!! We used the ideas from this blog:
Walking by the Way
She has some great downloads and ideas there for copywork and the like.
In this one, we are melting M & M's in a little bit of water and then soaking that water into coffee filter paper to see how the colors seperate out. Pretty neat!
Disolving candy in hot water and cold water...which one dissolves faster?

Take your bowl of candy and make a graph with it..which type do you have more of? Ours was chocolate...oh darn..rofl
Of course we were down a couple of pieces by the time it was all over.
A lemonhead accidently jumped into her mouth.
Sorting her candy.

Raelee's pumpkin that we carved. Her friend next door helped her to carve it..fun!!!

Amanda has pink glitter shoes too and she's been dying to wear them. They are just a bit too big for her but she tries to make them work:)

Those lessons sounded really fun and such a great idea right after Halloween. Have a great week..
