The Nile

>> Thursday, August 13, 2009

We are studying about ancient Egypt and Egyptians. Because of that, we got to make a model of the Nile River. Raelee really enjoyed doing this and is anticipating the seeds growing soon. We are to flood the Nile every so often so that the 'crops' can grow.

Tell me why grass seed is dyed green? That's nuts.

And of course we have the Spinx to guard the Nile.
And this is what happens when you don't DRAIN the nile and a massive storm blows through while you are gone. *sigh* Back to square one.

What a great way to learn about other countries. Raelee, you're doing so great at school:)

lol, and now we know where floods come from!

Just put a ton of drain holes under the dirt and you will be good for the next flood. Sorry it happened, but it is also a learning experience - like "too much water too fast and this is what happens... and the people have to go in and figure out how fix it all".
